Bebb’s Willow (Diamond Willow, Grey Willow) is a large, fast-growing capable of forming dense thickets. While common in loose, saturated soils, they can also thrive in heavier, rockier soils and clay. They can grow to heights of 10m.
Branches are erect, flexible, red-brown in colour with hairy/peeled wood.
Alternating leaves are narrowly elliptic or egg shaped, short wooly to completely smooth. Flowers are whitish in colour and lack sepals and petals.
Found in moist forests, thickets, swamps and clearings in steppe and montane zones.
