Spiraea betulifolia
A low,flowering plant from a long, creeping rhizome.
Terminal clusters of smallish white flowers, sometimes pink tinged. Leaves are alternating, short stalked and oval to oblong egg-shaped. Coarsely double-toothed and dark green.
Found on rocky slopes, in clearings and dry to moist open forests in steppe to montane zones.
