Chamisso's cotton grass
Eriophorum chamissonis
A perennial sedge species with narrow, basal leaves and white cottony bristles surrounding the tuft at end of the stem. Can grow to 75cm (2.5ft) in height, forming extensive beds in wet meadows, bogs, streambanks and lakeshores. Found in low to middle elevations. Generally does not occur west of the Coast-Cascade mountains of BC.
