Arnica cordifolia

Perennial herb from a long, branching rhizome; stems solitary or occasionally a few clustered together, sparsely hairy with multicellular hairs and often glandular, 10-60 cm tall. An individual plant can live up to 12 years.
Basal leaves heart-shaped to arrowhead shaped, often produced on separate short shoots; stem leaves opposite, 2-3 (sometimes 1 or 4) pairs, finely toothed along the edges.
Daisylike flower heads 5-9cm feature white haired phyllaries and a golden center disk. The flowers generally bloom April to June.
