    A perennial native to western Canada, the plant spreads by underground rhizomes resulting in loose, clonal colonies featuring 5-50+ flower heads of blue or violet florets.

    Typically the plant grows 0.3-1.0m and features thick, saw-toothed leaves and ray flowers clustered around a yellow disk. Commonly found in dry meadows and forest openings in the montane zone.
